Black Friday

Today we jumped straight into Christmas. (Thanksgiving is over, so it's legit now.) We started at 6 am at JoAnn Fabric, where it wasn't a madhouse, but still took forever to get fabric cut. I am impressed/disgusted at how ambitious some of those women are. They had card FULL of fabric. I know it'll take me quite a while to get through the 10 darling yards I picked up. Two hours later, we hit up a few more stores, picking up some Christmas gifts and a pair of pants for me to wear (I left mine in the dryer at home, argh ...). This evening we opened Christmas gifts with the Goodeys. I am SO excited to start using my canning supplies! It's too darn bad it's winter and not much is really in season, but I'll have a few months to read up and plan my potted veggie garden for the spring.

For the coup de grace, we finished off the day with Santa Conquers the Martians. It was wonderful. Well, wonderful in that wow-I-can't-believe-someone-actually-made-that-film kind of way. It's even ranked in the bottom 100 on imdb. It had the perfect combination of green-skinned Martians, cardboard box robots, and a human-in-a-polar-bear-costume. I highly recommend it for an evening of festive, mindless entertainment.

Happy holidays! We're hoping to finish gift shopping this week so we can really concentrate on the spiritual side of the season. (And homework. Boo.)
